YouTube – One Question: Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun
LPY had an amazing drawing show at the CAG (Contemporary Art Gallery) where a wonderful book was created by Petra Watson. The book is called Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun; Neo-Native Drawings and other works; very well written and lovely images. In the video projected this month one gets a very small slice of LPY the artist as he engages in answering the question in the art world’s tongue of “art speak”. If you listen carefully one can hear the voice behind the visual; the one that speaks about atrocities to the children of residential schools, first nation communities, and the harsh realities of inhuman human behavior.
